Singing in the subway、地下鉄の中で合唱

When I went to Ecuador (a long time ago), I took a bus on a long trip from Quito to Esmeraldas with my buddy Greg. I remember we sat at the back of the bus where there were a couple of guys who brought guitars. So basically we just sang and partied with total strangers in a bus! That was so much fun.

Well, that was in Latino-America, where everyone is genetically predetermined to be jolly and sociable. But here's a clip of a wonderful group called Naturally 7 (don't know if they are pro's or not), who got the crowd going in a subway in Paris! As one guy pointed out in the comments, it would definitely be fun to see them in a jam-packed Japanese subway!


むか〜し、むかし、エクアドルに遊びに行った。その時、親友のグレッグとバスでQuitoからEsmeraldasという町に行った。長いバスの旅、一番の思い出はやっぱり、バスの後ろの方に座って、ギターを持ち込んだ赤の他人たちと酒飲んで、楽しく歌ったことです。まだスペイン語も全然流暢じゃなかったので、適当にフンフンごまかしていただけだけどね。v(^o^)7"

でも、ラテン人って、陽気遺伝子を持っているから、そんなんの幾らでもある話。今日はなんと、パリの地下鉄で同じ様なことをやった「Naturally 7」と言うグループのビデオを紹介する。プロなのか、アマなのかは分からないけど、あまりの上手さに、ガチガチのパリ人たちだって、ノリノリ！次はやっぱり、世界ガチガチ人間王国である日本の地下鉄でもやってもらいたいぜ！

Las Vegas

Back from Vegas. Lost about 100$ overall. Not bad. Still got my dignity. Actually, we didn't do that much gambling. We watched A LOT of shows though. All of them great! Here is a little summary of our little stay in Las Vegas.

Day 1
Arrival in Vegas. Checked into the Flamingo Hotel. Relaxed.

Day 2
City tour during the day. In the evening, watched Cirque du Soleil: Love (A Beatles Tribute). This was not quite what I expected, since it was closer to a musical show than a circus act, but it was good. I would've liked to see the live band though, as is the case in other Cirque du Soleil shows.

Day 3
Watched Dirk Arthur's Magic Show. It was fun but nothing I've not seen before. After that, again Cirque du Soleil: Mystere. This was really the typical Cirque du Soleil, with lot's of acrobatics and other great circus acts. Then we saw the Blue Man Group! This was a great percussion show! The concept is highly original, the show is humorous, and the music is tight and impressive. Highly recommended.

Day 4
Went to the Stratosphere Tower. Rode the X Scream, a ride that hangs out into mid-air from the roof of the tower. The first thing I said to mom as we got on was: "Mom, please don't die of a heart attack!" But it was definitely not as scary as it looked. Next, we watched the American Superstar Show. This was very entertaining. 5 superstar look-alikes and act-alikes gave a stellar performance. We saw Elvis, Brittany, Tim McGraw, Madonna, and Michael Jackson! The Michael Jackson imitation was absolutely incredible! Then, for the last time, another Cirque du Soleil show: Zumanity. Funny and very sexy.

Day 5
Grand Canyon tour. "Breath-taking" is an understatement for what I saw. There are no words to adequately describe the view. You must go and see it for yourself.

So there you go. 5 short days in Sin City. Now...got a lotta work waiting for me for the remainder of the vacations...


ラス・べガスから帰ってきました。全部で１００＄位擦ったかな？大した事はない。と言うか、ギャンブルよりも、面白いショーをいっぱい観ました！今回の旅をまとめてみました。

初日
ラス・べガス到着。フラミンゴホテルにチェックイン。一日目なので、予定は無し。

二日目
昼間は市内観光。夕方にシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユのラブ（ビートルズの音楽）。思ったショーとは違っていて、サーカスというよりもミュージカルって感じ。他のシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユのショーみたいに、生バンドが客席からみれなかったのは残念。

三日目
ダーク・アーサーのマジックショーを見ました。面白かったけど、僕が見た事のないマジックはなかった。そのあと、またシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユ。今度はミステール。これこそいわゆるシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユのサーカスショー。とても迫力ありました。でもでも、その後にさらに爆発的なショーを見ました。ザ・ブ ルーマン・グループ。これはパーカッションのショーだけど、本当に観客と一緒に「楽しむ」と言うショーで、凄く新鮮で面白かった。ミュージシャンたち も超一流。テッちゃんの一番のお勧め。

四日目
ストラトスフィアー・タワーに行って、「世界丸見え特捜部」でも紹介されたエクスクリームという、タワーの屋根から、中空に飛び出す乗り物に乗りました。「母ちゃん、心臓発作で死なないで下さい」と言って乗ったものの、全然見た目ほど怖くないです。その次にアメリカン・スーパースター・ショーとい う物まねのライブを見ました。これは逆にあまり期待していなかったけど、意外に面白かった。５人の物まねアーティストが出演して、エルビス、ブリットニー、ティム・マックグロー、マドンナ、マイケル・ジャクソンの真似を連発。一番驚いたのはマイケルの物まね。この人は「凄い」。そして、ラス・べガスで見た最後の ショー、またもシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユ。今度はズーマニティー。ユーモアとエロスのミックスで、またも一味違ったシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユ。

五日目
往復で約６００マイル運転して、一日のグランド・キャニオン・ツアー。想像を絶するというのはこの事でしょう。話しても、通じないと思う、あの壮大な景色。自分で見るしか無いと思います。

まあ、こんな感じの五日間でした。さあ、これからは宿題、宿題、宿題！

友人のホームステイー

Already 10 days since I got back from Canada. It was great to spend time with family and friends. Here are some photos of great friends that I had the great fortune of seeing this time, some of whom I've not seen for a loooooong time.

It sucks that I didn't get pictures of family (besides Shige) and Greg, my great buddy since I was 14 (who's pretty much family). I guess you don't feel the urge to take pictures when you're spending time at home with family. It's a different vibe. But you can check them out on the slideshow at the top of my BLOG!

カナダから帰ってきて、もう１０日も経つ。勿論、休みは短かった。でも家族とお友達と充実した時間が過ごせてホンマよかった。友達によっては最近会った人もいれば、超長い間会っていない人もいた！紹介するね。

|DDiary| 家に到着！ Home sweet home

日本のアパートを出てから25時間後にカナダの家に到着！最後の力を振り絞って、カナダで載せる初記事！何か特に言いたい事があるわけではないけどね。ただ、無事に着きましたよ～！って感じ。写真に写っているのは母親と弟です。家のベランダからの景色で、夏バージョン(ゴルフ場)と冬バージョン(スキー場)です。

2週間じっくりと休ませてもらうぜ！

25 hours after leaving my apartment in Japan, I arrived at my home in Canada (see photos, summer and winter versions of the view from my balcony). Here I am, gathering my last bit of energy to write this first ever post from Canada! ...not that I have much to say... Well, I arrived safely!

Alright, two weeks of rest!!
